The one question that remains on her mind is whether someone actually did kill her aunt. One where she is one of the prime suspects, as are many other relatives. But from the instant that Aunt Aggie dies, a murder investigation starts up. Her aunt may not have ever officially named one of them to be her heir, as far as Violet knows. It makes no sense for any of them to risk killing her if they had nothing to gain from it. Plenty of the family members in the room had ample reason to want to try and get her to die, but the only thing about the matter is that in fact they would have wanted to get their names into the will first. She intends to go to the holiday and enjoy it with her twin, and they’ll just do the same things that they are always used to doing. Violet has spent the holiday season with her aunt before. Some of the relatives have their suspicions about the matter, however, since this woman has devoted the majority of her considerably long life to getting money and tucking it away, all while maintaining a strong distance between herself and the rest of her family. They have been called there, although they do not know exactly why for certain. She is spending some of the holidays with her other relatives and Agatha Davies, her aunt. The main character and heroine of this story is a young woman named Violet Carlyle. The year is 1922, and the time is Christmas.
